Relational Mission

We are part of Relational Mission which is within the wider Newfrontiers family.

We believe it is important to remain connected to wider regional and global churches for the sake of healthy accountability and uniting around a shared vision.

Relational Mission is not just a name, but a way of life.

Our vision is to be globally fruitful, crossing all boundaries to reach the nations, make disciples and plant locally-led churches.

To see this vision fulfilled, we need the strength of grace-filled relationships to sustain us. Our name identifies this conviction: we are friends together on a mission.

We believe that every person has a unique role in extending the kingdom of God and seeing the church strengthened.

We believe that every local church is called to visibly display the glory of Christ and be a powerful agent of transformation within their local community and beyond.

Together, we are a family of churches on mission.

Our values

Doctrinal values

Word-based
We believe in the absolute truthfulness, sufficiency and final authority of Scripture.
Grace-filled
We believe that the message of grace and the gospel is central to the Christian life and the local church.
Spirit-empowered
We believe that all the gifts in Scripture are available and desirable today for building the local church and extending the Kingdom of God.

Leadership values

Elders in each local church
The Holy Spirit appoints elders who are recognised by the church and broader apostolic ministry.
Ephesians 4 ministries
All Ephesians 4:11 gifts are valid today, helping to bring churches to maturity and to equip men and women to fulfil their God-given ministry.
Servant-hearted
Following the example of Jesus, Christian leaders are meant to serve others, not be served.

Mission values

Local church focused
We regard the local church as central to the mission and purposes of God.
Expressed locally, globally and holistically
We desire to see local churches engaged in local kingdom mission, caught up in a global apostolic kingdom mission, and involved in holistic mission that engages with all sectors of society.
Contextual freedom in application
We recognise that our core values will need to be contextualised and applied differently in each context.

A way of life

Our vision directs us. Our way of life defines how we want to live along the way: seven aspirations help to shape us as we grow together into full maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Hands holding the book Relational Mission: A Way of Life
  • Starting new families

We see church planting as an instinctive part of our life together. Our aim is to be globally fruitful by establishing biblically robust churches that multiply.

  • Everyone a witness

We want every believer to be a confident witness, sharing the gospel through words, works and wonders. We keep the Great Commission central and believe many will come to faith.

  • Compass but no map

We believe in shared values and diverse styles. We are guided by the Holy Spirit, prophetic insight and apostolic wisdom, and while our DNA can’t change, how it manifests will vary by mission field.

  • Raising sons and daughters

A healthy family releases the next generation. We disciple, empower and release spiritual sons and daughters who will carry Relational Mission forward.

  • Church for a broken world

We build healthy churches that prioritise discipleship and seek to bring godly influence to the world. We serve every community and demographic as Christ’s hands and feet, ensuring the gospel is seen and heard.

  • A real family

We’re building a family of churches marked by authentic friendship and fellowship. The fruit of our life together is people becoming more like Jesus and communities being transformed by the gospel.

  • Prayers of many

We encourage faith-filled expressions of corporate prayer in our churches, learning to hear and respond together to the Holy Spirit as we seek gospel breakthrough.

Our leadership

Our family of churches is served by a team of three apostles, assisted by a large team of men and women.
